In the belief that companies marketing inkjet printers have a social responsibility to recycle used ink cartridges, six printer manufacturers including Brother, Canon, Dell, Epson, HP Japan and Lexmark launched the Ink Cartridge Homecoming Project two years ago in collaboration with the Japan Post Group. Every six months, the project will make a donation to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) of three yen for every ink cartridge returned to any of the ink cartridge collection boxes installed at 3,639 major post offices across Japan. And The first donation period will run from October 2009 to March 2010, and the project would begin making donations to UNEP on April 1, 2010. So if you live in Japan, you can join the project by returning your used epson ink cartridges, used lexmark ink cartridges, or any other used ink cartridges from Brother, Canon, HP, or Dell to the boxes.
