Ink Cartridge Homecoming Project to Support UNEP’s Environmental Conservation Activities.

In the belief that companies marketing inkjet printers have a social responsibility to recycle used ink cartridges, six printer manufacturers including Brother, Canon, Dell, Epson, HP Japan and Lexmark launched the Ink Cartridge Homecoming Project two years ago in collaboration with the Japan Post Group. Every six months, the project will make a donation to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) of three yen for every ink cartridge returned to any of the ink cartridge collection boxes installed at 3,639 major post offices across Japan. And The first donation period will run from October 2009 to March 2010, and the project would begin making donations to UNEP on April 1, 2010. So if you live in Japan, you can join the project by returning your used epson ink cartridges, used lexmark ink cartridges, or any other used ink cartridges from Brother, Canon, HP, or Dell to the boxes.
We know the project can be seen from different perspective which also means encouraging consumers not to refill the used ink cartridges to third party makers of cartridge clones. But who cares when it can save our environment a little bit. I am doubt the project can help reducing the price of ink cartridges overall. But that’s okay, there are always alternatives for my readers like you especially the ones from UK. In this case, you can get 10% off from www.inkwarehouse.co.uk, just browse and select your inkjet printer manufacturer and then type discount code: “inkwarehouse” on checkout to get the opportunity.
