After standard camcorders, compact HD camcorders, more advance HD camcorders, and DualView compact cameras, now it’s the turn of standard compact cameras: WB210 and PL210.

First, let’s see what WB210 can offer for you. Coming with a long 12x optical zoom lens and the option of a 21mm wide angle setting, the WB210 is perfect for capturing landscape scenes. Priced at $279, the WB210 also includes 14 Megapixel photo quality, a large 3.5” touch screen with Samsung’s new Smart Access UI system, and a capability to make HD quality movie recording. Argh.. confusing right? This camera is able to make a video, those camcorder can capture still images. Which one is better? it’s depend on your needs, video-oriented or photo-oriented, just simplify your mind. Video usually produces larger files, so it need larger storage space.

The cheaper model, PL210, comes with a 10x optical zoom with 27mm wide angle lens in smaller body. It also includes a large 3.0 LCD, a 14 Megapixel photo quality, and HD movie capabilities. But it doesn’t have Smart-Access user interface. And last but not least, both cameras feature Smart Filter 2.0 that allows users to change the mood of their still images and movies with new modes such as; Soft Focus, Half Tone Dot effect, Old Movie, and an Enhanced Movie Filter.
